DU Admissions : B.A. (Honours) Business Economics (BBE) programme 2008-09
Delhi University (DU) has announced admission to its B.A. (Honours) Business Economics (BBE) programme 2008-09.
The BBE programme is offered at only 10 colleges of the varsity namely
B.R.Ambedkar College, Yamuna Vihar
College of Vocational Studies, Sheikh Sarai-II
Gargi College, Siri Fort Road
Lakshmibai College, Ashok Vihar
Maharaja Agrasen College, Mayur Vihar-I
Ram Lal Anand College (Evening), Dhaula Kuan
Shivaji College, Raja Garden
Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Pitampura
Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, Karol Bagh
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, Mall Road
The application forms are available from offices of the ten colleges on payment of Rs.400 (Rs.200 for SC/ST and children of defense personnel) in cash / crossed bank draft drawn in favour of the Director, UDSC (B.A. Hons. Business Economics) payable at the State Bank of India, Service Branch, New Delhi.
The application forms can also be obtained by post from any one of the ten colleges on remitting a crossed bank draft of Rs.400/- payable at the above mentioned branch.
A self addressed envelope of size (23 cm x 30 cm) with postage stamps of Rs.50/- should also be enclosed with the request.
Eligibility:
a) General Category:
The candidate must have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi with pass in 4 subjects (English, Mathematics and two Elective Subjects) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto, with 55% or more marks in the aggregate of these four subjects.
The four subjects considered are all from the academic stream. They are:
(1) English
(2) Mathematics or Business Mathematics
(3) and (4) Any two from among the following:
Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Commerce, Accountancy, Computer Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy and Biotechnology.
b) Reserved Categories:
1) Candidate must produce certificate from the competent authority to claim benefits under this category.
2) Candidates belonging to SC / ST category shall be allowed 5% relaxation of the marks in the minimum eligibility requirements. A separate merit list will be drawn for these students for the purpose of (15 + 7.5)% reservation.
3) Candidates belonging to OBC category shall be provided 9% of the total seats and a separate merit list will be drawn for the purpose. Eligibility requirement will be the same as for general category candidates (as per Delhi University guidelines).
4) Children and/or widows of personnel of Armed/Paramilitary Forces killed/disabled in action during the wars from 1947-48 onwards or those who died while on duty, shall be allowed relaxation of 5% in the minimum eligibility requirements.
5) Candidates belonging to the physically handicapped categories shall be allowed 5% concession in the minimum eligibility condition for the test and separate merit list will be drawn for such students for the purpose of 3% reservation.
c) Foreign Students:
Eligibility conditions for the foreign students will be the same as for the general category students.
An entrance test will be conducted on June 22, 2008 at 10:00 am.
