Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and National Institute of Technology (NIT)
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) among the best ranked Engineering Institutes in India. These institutes admit candidates through Joint Entrance Examinations on All-India basis with no domiciliary restrictions. The Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE) administered jointly by the seven Indian Institutes of Technology and IT-BHU and ISM is held usually in 1st week of May at a large number of centers throughout India for admission to the Engineering courses only. Foreign nationals are not eligible to write JEE.
National Institute of Technology are the next choice for Engineering Aspirants. Admission to these Institutes are done through All India Engineering Entrance Examinations (AIEEE) and students are selected on basis of merit. The AIEEE Tests are also conducted in the month of May-June every year. There are many Engineering Institutes and Universities in India who admit students based on their AIEEE ranking.
