CBSE Papers : Admission Information about AIEEE 2008

All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) for admission to degree level courses in Engineering and Architecture in National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), Deemed Universities and Institutions in Central/States/UTs/other than those covered by Joint Entrance Examination/State Level Entrance Examination for paid or unpaid seats based on the score.

1. Scheme of Examination:

Candidates opting for degree courses in Engineering/Architecture would be required to undertake test in the following papers:

B.E./B.Tech. Paper- I
B.Arch./B. Planning Paper-II

4. Eligibility:

Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary – Class –XII) examination or its equivalent referred to as a qualifying examination from a recognized Board/University for admission to B.E/B.Tech., B.Arch. & B. Planning Courses as under:

The candidates appearing in 10+2 (Class –XII) final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE provisionally, subject to their fulfilling the specified eligibility criteria at the time of appearing for counselling. Admissions to AIEEE are meant for Indian Nationals only.

5. Date of Birth:

Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1983 are eligible. However, in case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Physically Challenged candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by five years meaning thereby candidates born on or after October 01,1978 are eligible. The number of attempts, which a candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination, shall be limited to 03(three) uniformly for all the candidates.

One Time Exemption: Candidates who have already availed three attempts or more will be permitted to appear in All India Engineering /Architecture Examination 2008, as a last chance in 2008.

6. Cost of Examination Bulletin inclusive of Examination fee for B.E/B.Tech only or for B.Arch. / B. Planning only:

Rs. 300/- for General Category and Rs. 150/- for SC/ST category for either B.E/B.Tech. or B. Arch/B. Planning only. Candidates opting for B.E./B.Tech. and B.Arch./B. Planning (Both) will have to pay additional fee of Rs. 200/- for General Category and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST Category by means of Demand Draft as per instructions. Candidates opting Examination Centre in foreign country will have to pay additional fee as mentioned in Information Bulletin.

7. Reservation for SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates will be applicable as per the Government of India /States concerned existing rules or as amended from time to time. However, reservation for OBC candidates, if any, would be communicated through newspaper/advertisement/AIEEE website as and when Government orders for the same are issued.

8.How to get Information Bulletin /Application Form

The Information Bulletin containing the Application Form and other details will be available for sale from 30/11/2007 from designated branches of Syndicate Bank/Other Banks /NITs/Deemed Universities /Institutions and the Regional Offices . In addition to the cost of Information Bulletin, the designated branches of Syndicate Bank or designated Institutions would charge Rs. 5/- extra as service/processing charges.

The Information Bulletin containing Application Form can also be obtained by post by sending a MICR bank Draft of Rs 350/- for General Category and Rs. 200/- for SC/ST Category (which includes Rs 50/- towards postal charges) along with a self-addressed envelope of the size of 12”x 10” (without postage stamps) from the
Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS-1-2, Institutional Area, I.P. Extension, Patparganj, Delhi-110092.


The last date for receipt of complete applications in CBSE will be 10/01/2008.

9. ‘Online’ Submission of application

Eligible candidates may also apply through the application format available on the website of AIEEE,, with photograph, signature and the requisite fee. If the candidate wants to appear only for one paper i.e. for B.E/B.Tech. or for B.Arch/B.Planning a payment of Rs 300/- for the General Candidate and Rs 150/- for SC/ST category need to be made. Candidate opting for B.E/B.Tech. and B.Arch/B.Planning (both the papers) will have to send payment of Rs 500/- for General Category and Rs 250/- for SC/ST Category.

The forms need to be sent by Registered/Speed Post only and not by Courier. The fee will be submitted in the form of DD, drawn in the favour of Secretary CBSE, Payable at Delhi. Candidate opting Examination Centre in foreign country has to pay additional fees as mentioned in Information Bulletin.
